Some things about my art classes may have changed since the Pandemic, but the quality of the art lessons have not. Each week I will teach a different art lesson inspired by an artist, an architect, a sculptor, a time period or an art movement. The students may learn about one of the Masters, an obscure graffiti artist or a cartoonist. They will also be introduced to a variety of different art mediums and techniques. Each class begins with a short introduction of the artist we will be studying and then we jump into an original art project.
Since the classes are so small I have condensed the time to 45 minutes and have reduced the cost from $18 for an hour to $15. The added bonus I have found is I get more one-on-one time with each student, and they really enjoy not having to share their art supplies.
Due to the COVID-19 restrictions and requirements I take the upmost safety and cleaning measures for my students. The art studio has been transformed with individual desks and art supplies. Masks are required for everyone who enters the art studio. Between art classes I disinfect the chairs and desks and swap out the art supplies for each class.
As restrictions continue to be eased up on and our numbers go down I will continue to follow the Covid-19 guidelines. I am optimistic that this summer I will be able to host Summer Art Classes with 6 - 8 students per workshop.
